Lynx Safety

Lynx Safety

The CU Denver Lynx Safety App is one of my earliest UI/UX design projects, created to enhance campus safety for students, faculty, and staff. The app provides an interactive, user-friendly platform that consolidates safety resources, real-time alerts, and personal protection features. This project demonstrates my early approach to combining technology with design to create a more secure and responsive campus environment.

UI/UX Design

2 Months

Project Objective:

The objective of this project was to address campus safety concerns by designing an accessible, intuitive, and technologically advanced solution. The app was intended to empower users with tools to proactively manage personal safety, stay informed of potential risks, and engage with campus safety services effectively.

Key Features:

  • Walking Buddy System: Allows users to virtually escort themselves across campus with real-time location tracking for added security.

  • Emergency Alerts: Instant notifications for safety incidents or campus emergencies.

  • Direct Contact with Campus Safety: One-touch access to campus security and emergency services.

  • Personal Safety Toolkit: Features such as panic buttons, location sharing, and safety check-ins.

  • User-Friendly Interface: Clean, interactive design focused on accessibility and ease of use.

Design Process:

  1. Research and Inspiration: Studied lifestyle and performance brands to identify visual trends, gaps, and opportunities for differentiation. Gathered moodboards that explored movement, minimalism, and intentional living.

  2. Concept Development: Sketched and iterated on logo marks, typography pairings, and visual systems to capture the essence of Move With Purpose and explored multiple directions before refining a cohesive identity.

  3. Packaging Exploration: Prototyped packaging concepts with a focus on sustainability and user experience. Consider how the box could act as both protection and a storytelling medium during unboxing.

  4. Apparel Design: Designed clothing touchpoints that extended the identity into everyday wear. Balanced functionality with lifestyle appeal, creating versatile pieces that reflect the brand’s ethos.

  5. Refinement and Cohesion: Tested variations across applications, ensuring consistency in color, typography, and tone. Finalized a unified system that ties brand identity, packaging, and apparel into a single narrative.
